My Photo

Welcome!!!!

...to my blog! I am a wedding photographer located in the fabulously beautiful Bay Area, California! I love to photograph weddings, and I've been known to spread my talents to other forms of portraiture as well (such as maternity, and boudoir). This blog will serve to keep you posted on recent work, as well as new portrait adventures, and just my adventures in life as well! Clients can catch sneak peeks of their photos on here, and for those interested in my work, it will also give you chance to get to know me, well, before getting to know me! Bay Area Boudoir Portraits...

Some one asked me not too long ago what my favorite part of photographing a wedding was. To be honest, it was something I hadn't asked myself in a long time. In answering it, I realized something that had been in the back of my mind, but had never thought much of. Wedding photography is such an amazing and challenging career. To be able to photograph such a magical day, to be able to capture such unique and fleeting moments, is such an amazing experience. With all of that said, one of my secret favorite parts of a wedding is.....photographing the bride!

It's true...one of the things I look forward to most is the brief fraction of the day where I get to photograph the bride, one on one. The bride, looking stunning with her hair and makeup done, in her gorgeous gown, and radiating excitement and anticipation, is such a beautiful sight. Even still, she can often be nervous and unsure. That where I come in! I love being able to come in and reassure the bride how fabulous she looks (which they always do!!), and tell her about all the beautiful, sassy portraits we're going to take. While taking said sassy portraits, I get to see the bride relax, have fun, and really get into it, and it is such a fun time for everyone!! The bride gets to flaunt her sassiness, and I get to be there to capture it! I've already taken this same mentality to maternity (who says pregnant women can't be sassy?! exhibit A)...

So, you ask....where AM I going with this? Well, in answering that question, it made me realize I could take this favorite part of working a wedding, and turn it into its own fabulous moment! Boudoir!! Eureka! Women deserve to pamper themselves, to feel SEXY! Boudoir gives women a chance to flaunt it, bring out their inner sassy (and the fiances/husbands win too! Can you say best surprise gift EVER?) I think as women, in all the madness of life, we forget how truly sexy we are. Boudoir is a great way to bring out that inner sexiness, and to document it! With that said, I am SUPER excited about being able to offer boudoir portraits here in the bay area, to be able to offer women a chance to take classy, sexy portraits (whether for themselves or their significant other), and I can't wait to share more about this with you over the next couple months!

Alright...enough chattering from me! Here are some more sassy portraits I've taken recently....

Fabulous shoes from Heidi Hughett over at Couture Celebrations!

I LOVE Heidi! If you haven't met Heidi (or checked out her event planning studio), then I would highly recommend it! Heidi (and her fab assistant Lia) run a super amazing event planning business here in Santa Cruz. Besides working in weddings, we have one other thing (well, one of many) in common....we  love love LOVE shoes! In fact, Heidi loves shoes so much, she does a blog post (Shoes for thought Thursdays) every week on her blog. How rad is that?

Anywho, I had been having problems in my mission for sassy fuschia shoes for my own upcoming wedding (coming soon-blog posts on my wedding adventures!)...so Heidi did a whole shoe post for me!! You should check out the sassy shoes she found for me!

Here is one pair I'm digging....

Boudoir in the house!

Yes, I've fallen off the grid lately (having no internet for a couple weeks was rough. ) Fear not though....I'm back! And do I have some surprises in for you!!

I'm currently down in San Diego right now (mooching wireless...story of my life...), and will be back this weekend. It's just one more of a series of small trips I've been taking to help me focus in on my goals for this year.  Lately I've been really trying to re-evaluate my focus and direction for Rebecca Meredith Photography...and I'm really excited about the new things to come (and I think you will be too!)!!

Here is a small lil taster...

Update!

Hey everyone! So the move went great (besides me being sick, which was pretty lame), Orb's and I are settling into our new home. HOWEVER (horror of all horrors), our internet STILL isn't hooked up. At this moment I am parked guerrilla style outside of a local laundromat, mooching off their free wifi. And of course I A: forgot my power cable, and B: didn't charge my laptop before I left. Awesome! So I am literally power typing right now since my battery status just went into the red zone (eek!!).

With that in mind, I don't think I am going to be able to go through my email quite yet, so if you have any urgent need to talk to me, please call me! you can reach me at 408.529.4728. If all goes well, I should have internet mid week next week. I look forward to rejoining civilization (I'm having Twitter withdrawals), so bear with me!

Cheers,

rebecca

Moving!

So Mr. Pullen and I are officially moving this weekend! We're moving to a larger home (more office space...woohoo!), but luckily we're staying close to our oh-so-awesome beachside neighborhood. I'm SUPER excited!!

Here's what it means for you:

As of tonight (Friday April 3) I will not have internet until midweek next week (the horror!!!!!!). Please be patient with me if I don't reply to any emails straightaway. Since I'm the only soul alive without an iphone, I don't have the luxury to check my email every 2.8 seconds.

Also, I'm hoping to set up my office asap, but it still may take me some time. With that in mind, any engagement sessions from the last couple weeks may be a bit delayed in being uploaded. Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Thank you guys for your patience during this super exciting time!

Cheers,

Rebecca

Holman Ranch Wedding with Christie & Lucas

Christie and Lucas got married on a beautiful sunny day in December at Holman Ranch, in the Carmel Valley. In fact, the whole week before, it had been rainy, yucky weather. On their wedding day, however, it was nothing but gorgeous, beautiful sunshine! Gotta love California (and wedding mojo!)! I had been really looking forward to their wedding (especially after our super fun engagement session!), and from the minute I got there to the minute I left, the day was a total blast! These guys are so adorable together, and I count myself lucky to have been able to get to know them and be a part of their special day.

Here are some fun detail to set the mood

Lucas surprised Christie by hiding a note with her cowboy boots (yes, they both wore cowboy boots...that's how rad they are) for her find while she was getting ready. It was the sweetest thing!!!

Now I'll be the first to admit that even after doing so many weddings, I am still a sentimental fool. I think weddings are such a beautiful, special way for a couple to celebrate their commitment, and watching wedding ceremonies still makes my heart get all warm and fuzzy. However, I'm pretty good at not being a bawling mess, and staying focused on my photography. With that said, Christie and Lucas' wedding had me wishing I had brought some tissue with me...

Montereywedding

Christie and Lucas had a special part of their ceremony dedicated to Lucas' daughter. In addition to her vows to Lucas, Christie also made vows to Lucas' daughter, and presented her with a gift. There wasn't a dry eye to be found!

Christie and Lucas...you guys more than fulfilled your promise to ooze awesomeness! Thank you again and again for being such awesome, sweet hearted people. You guys have truly been a pleasure to work with, and I can't wait to take more fun and sassy portraits of you in the future!

Nestldown wedding with Courtney & Nash

What a whirlwind it has been since the new year! So far this year, Orbie and I have been in Colorado, Mexico, Vegas, and SF. In between that, I have been busy designing albums, doing shoots (I have a super rad Maternity shoot to blog about soon!), and getting ready for the new season. Madness! With that said, I wasn't able to blog all of my weddings from last year, but I am going to post two more weddings from last season, and hopefully some fun personal adventures from '08 that never quite made it to the blog either.

Now...on to the fun stuff! Courtney and Nash's wedding at Nestldown! (If you want to check out their super-rad-and-amazing engagement session, click HERE.)

This wedding was simply STUNNING! It took place at the oh so beautiful Nestldown (one of my fav local places to shoot) and the details were out of control awesome. And, best of all, Courtney and Nash are the two sweetest most awesome-est (thats right, I said it...awesome-est) people EVER! The wedding was such a pleasure to photograph and be a part of, and I think it really shows in the images. Speaking of....

Here's Courtney getting some last minute touch-ups

I should note that the cake was done by the fabulous and amazingly talented  Edith Meyer of Edith Meyer Wedding Cakes. Her cakes don't just taste delicious (made with organic, local ingredients), they are so beautiful too!

Mexico!!

So i totally for got to post this before we left ( and now I`m trying to on a keyboard that is unfamiliar, so bear with me), but I`m in Mexico until this coming Monday! Woohoo! Anywho, that`s why if my email response has been slow, it`s because my internet access here is WAY scarce (along with phone...eek!). Your best bet is to email me though if you need to get a hold of me, I`ll be trying to check it every couple days or so.  Hopefully next time you see me, I`ll be a bit more tan (HA!)...

Adios!

Rebecca
